How to upgrade ? . The file is a zip container that you have to unpack in you ftp directory. After unpacking you have to specify directory of the files and specify the idf file name. Note : the zipped file contain all needed files which includes the “.idf file” , “container.ini” and the packages needed. Their is no need to use “Elias” to prepare the packages.  Just specify directory as /290/   and idf file as “elux290lite.idf” and you should be on you way.

Today NEXterminal has contracted with the recycle company “Jernpladsen A/S” to recycle all terminals sold by NEXterminal since 2004. Jernpladsen A/S is Certified by the Danish authorities to DS/EN ISO 14001:2004. All flash in a terminal will be removed and physical destroyed before further handeling of the material. All units will be seperated into 4 categories , Cabinets/casings/metal, plastic parts , Motherboards and Memory , Flash ( will be destroued at NEXterminal ApS)

Elux Firmware reset …Go into to the starter with CTRL+Windows keys and click on the  Setup/Firmware tabs. Click on the RESET button and then SAVE and REBOOT.

 In the bios under EXIT  select Set factory defaults

 In the bios under ADVANCED  set IDE Channel = disabled

IMPORTANT: During boot keep eyes on Wlan LED indicator. Enable Wlan immediately with FN + F1 if it goes off.

Now, the NEXlaptop is ready and you can setup wlan in eLuxRL according to documentation.

The NEXterminal® NEXus terminal is PCoIP based hardware, which in Manny people ears mean a VMware ® View 4.0 Terminal, and indeed it is. We support VMware® view 4.0 native protocol in [HARDWARE].. yes you did read this right.. the NEXus terminal has no CPU as you know it, it only has a PCoIP chip with firmware/bios and does not contain a operating system. It cant run a Linux OS or any other OS. but the benefits of this device is amazing if you cant use our traditional thin clients.

The NEXus terminal has a counterpart, a PCI based card specifically designed for encoding and transmitting a DVI video signal over the internet. As both the NEXus terminal and the counterpart does the encoding and decoding in hardware, you may be imagining that this a pretty fast technology. The host card ( counterpart) does not only encode the DVI signal, but it also has a new south bridge inbuilt, with this you get USB 1.1 ports and sound redirected as well , in real time of course.

 With the latest VMware View 4.0 client you can not connect to virtual PC’s supported by vmware view. The Client is compatible with View 3.1, View 3.0, VDM 2.1, VDM 2.0 and certified for View 4.0. The client can work with MMR (multimedia redirection) , Smartcad and most important the PCoIP protocol. Now you can virtualize all you pc’s on VMware and access them from your thin client, either with RDP or with PCoIP from teradici. NEXTerminal technicians can assist you setting up a  complete solution based om the VMware suite.

Note the view client does not use hardware acceleration (yet) and need excessive CPU power to perform well. Our NEXlaptop-III runs fine because of the 1.8Ghz celeron crunching machine.
