New Scout: Version 11+.

Nexterminal release Scout version supporting both NG and RL and also supporting the software subscription beeing enforced.

New eLux NG: baseos 2.2

First eLux version to fully support subscription enforcement and to enable upgrade of eLux NG to eLux RL based on valid subscription

eLux RL is the future OS of NEXterminal. eLux RL is a natural successor of eLux NG. With the RL version it is now possible to get the promised LITE version of eLux. We will conduct training courses early next year, teaching how to migrate all you boxes to eLux Reloaded.

New scout Version 11+.

The new Scout version 11.2.1 has been released. The main difference is the ability to support software subscription and thus also allowing upgrade to eLux RL It contains new functions and support for new hardware. Furthermore the Scout Version 11 and greater supports 25 terminals without a scout license for a cheaper price entry for small installations. The version also supports eLux Lite software.

Bugfix

• DHCP client hotfix CVE-2009-0692: Stack-based buffer overflow in the script_write_params method in DHCP allows remote DHCP servers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted subnet-mask option.
• Kernel hotfix CVS-2009-2692: The Linux kernel does not initialize all function pointers for socket operations, which allows local users to trigger a NULL pointer dereference and gain privileges by using mmap to map page zero, placing arbitrary code on this page, and then invoking an unavailable operation.
• Subscription age calculation normalized

NEXceed-I & eLux RL version 2.3

*** WORLD PREMIERE ***

NEXterminal releases the most powerful terminal until now. (we do that every year!) this time it is not a AMD based cpu, but the “new” Intel(r) Atom cpu. The NEXceed it not directly replacing the NEXTstation VII, as this dual screen model can still be ordered, but we do expect customers to prefer the NEXceed to the NEXstation, unless serial and parallel port are needed, or if you need to stay at the NG platform for a little while more.

eLux RL support and Migration from eLux NG

eLux RL now support DesiNEX-II and newer , NEXstation IV and newer , NEXlaptop III and newer , NEXtreme and NEXceed series. In addition you can but extra flash and memory for NEXstation II and III. If absolutely needed you can also et more memory for the DesigNEX-I.

If your terminal is less than 2 years you can upgrade to eLux RL for free, to upgrade you have to install scout version 11, upgrade to elux 2.2 and then install the migration pack. A detailed license validation/subscription

NEXTerminal will end development of elux NG 31. december 2010. Please have in mind when you install scout version 11, you have limited time to upgrade to eLux RL (read FAQ)

NEXstation and DesigNEX

Ok, we admit it….we dont tell so much about when we upgrade current hardware, but the desigNEX-II has become desigNEX-III and price dropped 35 Euro, read about DesigNEX-III hardware here, NEXstation VI was stuck on the price tag, but became NEXstation VII and lost 2 USB port , gained a serial and a DVI , and thus support DUAL screen , as both the NEXtreme and NEXceed do now. Both terminals seem to get “new life” running new elux RL.
