eLux NG

Elux NG is a embedded Linux operation system specifically designed to thin clients. it has been designed to be robust, easy to manage and flexible. We share eLux NG with other vendors. Sharing the cost and sharing the experiences give us a even better os for a lower cost. Everybody would probably write their implementations is the best..but we didn’t implement it! we choosed it after carefull evaluation. Anyway we try to explain why we think:

“NEXterminal has the best Linux based Thin OS in the world.”

Why should this be true?.. read on..

Many vendors make their own OS, (like Neoware , HP , Wyse and Igel ), They make software tools for Windows CE and their XPe and their Linux, and they write their own fully featured management system that can handle all 3 platforms(with or without success) . The also pay a lot of money to the employees that makes this software.  These developers also codes for special projects, that otherwise could have been solved by normal pc’s (and maybe even cheaper).

With eLux, NEXterminal does not have our own developers, and we only pay for the time needed to support our own hardware. All the core development is being shared among many other companies. Before we choose eLux, we did have 500 units of our test model “designex” running at 20+ customers in 6 month. We evaluated the number of support requests , request for changes , and overall customer satisfaction, flexibility, ease of rollout and installation. We tested and compared manny linux and management platforms, and we believe we found the best.

With e EBK (eLux builder kit ) customers  and  can make their own special code, without asking NEXterminal to overcharge for special customised software.

eLux NG is “build from ground to be more advanced and flexible” compared to other Thin Os’es. The result is a OS , that is a bit harder to learn and setup, but much more flexible. If you have a terminal from another brand it is likely you can upgrade to our eLux NG and gain the benefits of our perfect management tools and our commitment to your business.

A suite of applications is included with eLux NG. Scout is a tool to manage the terminals, Scout can configure, update, remote control, turn on/off terminals and more. Elias is tool to define the images that is to be installed on your terminals. With Elias you can specify if you want your terminal only to contain a few software components (like ICA only < 32MB flash) or all software products which will result in a big image.

EBK (eLux NG Builder Kit) enables you as the user to make you own home made applications available on the terminal.
